About The Artist’s Way:
The Artist's Way is a bestselling self-help book written by Julia Cameron. Its 12-week program is designed to help individuals, particularly those in creative fields to overcome blocks and unleash their full artistic potential.
Some of the exercises we will implement in this course include:
Morning Pages: This daily practice of writing three pages of stream-of-consciousness journaling is done first thing in the morning and helps clear the mind of clutter to make room for creativity.
Artist Dates: These weekly solo outings and activities are designed to nurture the inner artist and provide inspiration. Artist dates can include anything from visiting an art gallery to taking a nature walk or attending a concert.
Creative Recovery: Cameron emphasizes the idea of "creative recovery," suggesting that everyone is inherently creative but may have become disconnected to that creativity due to self-doubt, criticism, or societal pressures. Through the course, participants work to recover and rediscover their inner creativity.
Blocks and Resistance: Fear, perfectionism, and self-sabotage are common blocks to the creative process. In this course, we will learn tips and strategies for overcoming these obstacles.
